The Judicial Office is organising a pre-application seminar that will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 20th February 2025 (5-6:15pm).

The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC, you will also hear fromthe President of the Employment Tribunals and a Regional Employment Judge.

Who should attend?

Judicial office holders and practitioners from all backgrounds (including solicitors and Chartered Legal Executives) who have five years’ legal post qualification experience are welcome to attend.

Please note though, that while the Lord Chancellor has waived the need for prior judicial experience for these salaried roles, she expects that candidates will have current or previous substantial experience of employment law.

Candidates for posts in Wales need to have an understanding, or the ability to acquire the understanding, of the administration of justice in Wales, including legislation applicable to Wales and Welsh devolution arrangements. It is expected that candidates will have a good understanding of Welsh Language.

Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented groups (women, ethnic minority candidates, disabled candidates).
