LB Havering & other local authorities v Stokes & others

The appellants are local authorities who have obtained injunctions against unauthorised encampments on land in their areas.  The orders are expressed to be against not only a number of named defendants but also “persons unknown”.  In a Judgment handed down on the 12th May 2021, Nicklin J held that, whereas interim injunctions may be granted against persons unknown, final injunctions may not.
