His Honour Judge Stephen Davies
Stephen Davies is a Circuit Judge based in Manchester. He is authorised to sit in the Queen’s Bench Division and Administrative Court (including planning work) and also sits as a Crown Court and Upper Tribunal Judge.
His Honour Judge Davies attended state schools in Lancashire before studying law at Cambridge, after which he qualified as a barrister and practised in Manchester from 1986 to 2007. He came to specialise in business and property cases and in 2003 was appointed to sit as a Recorder in the Crown Court. He became a full time Circuit Judge in Manchester in 2007, again specialising in business and property cases. In 2010 he was authorised to sit in the Administrative Court, hearing a wide range of cases, including planning cases which he is authorised to hear. He also sits as a Crown Court Judge and as a Judge of the Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber.
