District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Appointment: Austin
The King has appointed Orla Austin to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Western Circuit, based at Poole Magistrates’ Court with effect from 14th April 2023.
Background Information
Orla Austin will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Austin. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2006. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber and a Deputy District Judge in 2019.
