Circuit Judge Appointment: Genn
The King has appointed Yvette Genn to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The former Lord Chief Justice deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Central London County Court with effect from 6 November 2023.
Yvette Genn will be known as Her Honour Judge Genn. She was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1991. She was appointed as a Chair of the First-tier Tribunal, Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal in 2004, as a Deputy District Judge in 2007, and as a Recorder in 2009. In 2020 she was authorised as a Judge of the Court of Protection. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Health, Education and Social Care Chamber in 2022.
