Circuit Judge Appointment: O’Brien
The King has appointed Sarah O’Brien to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Northern Circuit, based at Burnley County Court and Preston Crown Court with effect from 9 October 2023.
Background Information
Sarah O’Brien will be known as Her Honour Judge O’Brien. She was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1998. She was appointed as a District Judge in 2017 and as a Recorder in 2019.
