The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal is seeking new members
The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) is an independent statutory tribunal. It protects the interests of the public and maintains confidence in the reputation of the solicitors’ profession. The majority of cases before the tribunal involve adjudicating on cases of alleged disciplinary breaches.
We are now looking for up to 15 Solicitor Members and up to 10 Lay Members to join in 2022. Solicitor Members are practising solicitors of at least 10 years’ standing and Lay Members are people who are not solicitors or barristers.
This is a stimulating and rewarding role and involves working as part of a panel of three to hear and adjudicate on a range of complex and challenging cases. Members need to be able to commit to at least 15 hearing days each year, plus time to prepare for hearings and draft Judgments.
